Privacy notice

The short version: Tillpack doesn't have accounts and doesn't upload your receipts. Everything you add is saved in your own browser on your own device. We can't see it, and neither can anyone else unless you send it to them.
Who we are
Tillpack is the trading name of Renan Rasim, a sole trader, of 19 Wellington Street, St Ives, Cambridgeshire, PE27 5AZ ("we", "us"). For UK data protection law, we are responsible for the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us at tillpackapp@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
When you use the Tillpack app, the following is saved only in your browser's storage (IndexedDB and local storage) on the device you're using:
- receipts, invoices and takings you add, including amounts, dates, suppliers, categories, VAT and notes
- photos you take or choose
- your business name, your accountant's name and email address
- simple settings, such as your reminder choices, the date of your last backup, and the date you agreed to our Terms
This information is never sent to us. We don't have a copy and can't recover it for you. Clearing your browser's site data, uninstalling the browser or losing your device will delete it, so please download a backup regularly.
When you use Read from photo, the receipt is read by software running inside your browser. The photo and the text read from it are not sent to us or to anyone else. The first time you use it, your browser downloads the reading software (about 9 MB) from our own website, tillpack.pages.dev, which is hosted by Cloudflare as described below.
When you import a card machine report, the file is read inside your browser and is not sent anywhere. Only the daily totals are saved, on your device.
What you choose to share
The PDF pack, spreadsheet and backup files are downloaded to your device. You decide whether to send them to your accountant or store them somewhere else, such as Google Drive or iCloud. Once you share them, the privacy terms of your email provider, cloud storage or accountant apply.
Website hosting
The Tillpack website and app are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use this only to run and secure the site.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (running a secure website). Cloudflare keeps this information for a short time. You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy.
We don't use analytics, advertising, error tracking or other tracking tools. Everything the website and app need, including fonts, the PDF maker and the receipt-reading software, is served from our own site. Nothing is loaded from other websites.
Cookies and browser storage
Tillpack doesn't set cookies. Tillpack uses your browser's storage only to save the records you add (and a copy of the app so it works offline). This is needed for the app to work, so we don't ask for cookie consent.
If you email us
If you contact us, we'll use your email address and message to reply and to help you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering your questions. Our email is provided by Google (Gmail), so Google processes your emails on our behalf. We keep emails for up to two years and then delete them unless we need them longer for a legal reason.
Transfers outside the UK
Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the UK. They use legally approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US Data Bridge.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights including to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how it's used, and to data portability. Because your Tillpack records are stored only on your device, you can view, change, export and delete them yourself at any time in the app (Settings & backup). For anything else, email tillpackapp@gmail.com.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, email us first at tillpackapp@gmail.com. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and let you know how we'll handle it.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Tillpack is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change how Tillpack handles data, for example if we add accounts or cloud sync in future, we'll update this notice and show the new date at the top before the change takes effect.
